Our Story
Malcom Risk Advisors was founded by David Malcom in 2024. As the son of a small business owner, Mr. Malcom saw first-hand the unique challenges and uncertainties that these organizations face, from coming home with no income one day to having your most successful day of the year. In today's digital economy, these challenges have grown exponentially, and most small businesses lack the resources to implement robust cybersecurity programs or reap the insights delivered through data analytics. Mr. Malcom created Malcom Risk Advisors to provide organizations of all sizes with access to experts to solve problems just like these, without the rates charged by large consulting firms.
Our mission is to close the talent gap faced by small- and medium-sized businesses and non-profits, as it relates to cybersecurity and their ability to protect their organization’s data, digital assets, and reputation. Meet David Malcom,
President and CEO
Recognized as a creative thought leader, David Malcom brings over 24 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, internal audit, and data analytics. His career began as a consultant in the Big 4, after which he served in multiple leadership roles at large global corporations. A proven expert in transformation, he most notably built and led the credentialed Global IT Internal Audit organization and oversaw the credentialed Data Analytics team at Accenture. David has also served in multiple corporate executive roles, including as the Chief Information Security Officer for a global hospitality organization, where he was responsible for establishing their information security function.
David holds a degree in Accounting, which combined with his advanced business and technical acumen, enables him to identify business problems and land solve them with digital solutions. David is certified and recognized as an expert in the cybersecurity, data analytics, and internal audit domains. He possesses extensive experience presenting to Boards of Directors and Audit Committees and frequently speaks at industry conferences and webinars, sharing best practices with peers. In 2023, David was honored as the Auditor of the Year by the Institute of Internal Auditors (Chicago chapter).
